Unique Grotesque Bird Jar and Cover 1892
Salt glazed stoneware, the bird has a smiling yet wicked expression, with short open wings, puffed chest and a balding head. Very well incised and brightly coloured in a high-glaze on wooden base, 11 in ( 28 cm ) high.
