Unique Musical Imp Tobacco Jar 1900
By Robert Wallace Martin, modeled as a smiling grotesque musical imp on elaborate carved wooden base. Unusually large ruggedly modeled in a mottled brown salt glaze, seated holding Pan Pipes in his right hand, his left clasped to his chest as he sings. Detachable head with a look of simple but profound happiness. 8 1/2′ ( 21.5 cm ) high .
