Cruet Set Stoneware Martin Brothers

Unusual Rare Stoneware Cruet Set 1888

By Robert Wallace Martin, incised with wild flowers, inscribed ‘Oil’ and ‘Vinegar’ in shades of brown 6 in (15.5 cm ) high.

What an incredible world it must have been in Victorian times. The Martin Brothers were often consigned to make for the Royalty, Earls, Dukes,

Barons and the Great British Upper Crust Wealthy.

Hard to imagine today that a Manor House would commission a simple Oil & Vinegar set for the dining table.
